2026 "Distinguished Service" Awards presented to Mr. Piotr Puchta and Natalia Romik, Ph.D.
Friends of Jewish Heritage in Poland honored Piotr Puchta and Natalia Romik for their profound impact on the preservation of Jewish heritage in Poland at our second annual “Distinguished Service” Awards today. See the video from the session below. Mr. Puchta is the former Director General of FODŻ and a former Polish Ambassador-at-Large. New Monument for the Szczuczyn Jewish Cemetery
A monument in the Jewish cemetery of Szczuczyn was replaced, correcting disinformation placed on the previous version. The new monument’s content was produced by findings from FODŻ, descendants of the Jewish community, the Podlaskie Voivodeship Office, the Institute of National Remembrance, and the Rabbinical Commission for Jewish Cemeteries in Poland.
